Vimana

Vimana, the temple dome, is a small tower over the central shrine. The structure of the vimana often tapers towards the top. This tall pyramidal tower consists of one or more storeys, each of which usually contains a garland of miniature shrines in different forms. The vimana are generally square, oblong or apsidal shaped.

The word 'vimana' is also used to describe the entire structure in which the main shrine is located.
