One of the shortest rivers in
Kerala, Purapparamba River originates from the end trail of Purapparamba cut in
Malappuram District. The length of the river is about 8 km. The Canoli Canal, located in
Kozhikode District, connects it with other rivers. A west-flowing river, Purapparamba traverses through the
Chennai -
Mangalore railway line, which is in between
Tanur and Parappanangadi stations.
