Manganam is a small town in
Kottayam District of
Kerala and is 3 km south-east of
Kottayam. The place derived its name from 'Mango Vanam' which means 'the land of mangoes.' Even today, Manganam is known for its variety of mango trees.
Kerala Balagram (charitable institution for destitute), Catholic spirituality center, Mochana (center for de-addiction of drugs) and Agathimandiram (old age home) and Christavashram (ashram for service and a camp center) are some of the social and spiritual centers located here. Nearby towns include Ettumanur,
