Para is a small form of
Chenda. ‘Parachenda’ is the other name. In some parts of
Kerala, it is called ‘Veekanchenda’. As the name represents, the size of Para varies in different regions. This instrument is played with ‘Tholpavakuthu’ and ‘Kanyarkali’.
