Palayur or Palur, in
Thrissur District is located on the west coast of
Kerala. This village is the ancient cradle of Christianity in India, where Apostle St Thomas is believed to have worked many miracles in the first century. Palayur was the home of Israelites, two thousand years ago. Ruins of an ancient Jewish Synagogue are still seen near the church.
Boat Jetty (Bottukulam), Thalikulam, historical remnants of an old Aryan Temple and Historical Museum are worth visiting.
