Jain Temple of Jainmedu




Jain Temple of Jainmedu is in Palakkad District of Kerala. It was built by one Sutar (head of the Jains), who came here from Mysore during the invasion of Tipu Sultan. This history dates back 500 years.

The temple is 32 ft long and 20 ft wide. The walls are made of granites. The shrine has four divisions with images of Jain Tirthankars and Yakshinis in three of them.

Jainmedu is about 3 km west of Palakkad. Palakkad Junction Railway Station is the nearest major railhead.
