Shri Ayyappa Temple, located at Anachal (15 km from
Munnar), is dedicated to
Lord Ayyappa.
The temple complex is also home to the deities of
Lord Ganesh and
Nagaraja. The rituals conducted in the temple are same as that of the
Sabarimala Shri Dharma Sastha Temple.
The main offering of the temple is Neeranjanam, which is done in order to remove the 'Sani dosham'. Mandala Mahotsavam, celebrated here amidst much pomp and splendor, attracts a large number of people from far and near.
Kottayam Railway Station and Cochin International Airport are the nearest railway station and airport respectively.
