Shri Poornathrayeesa Temple is located at
Tripunithura in
Ernakulam District. The presiding deity is
Lord Krishna in the form of Santhana Gopalakrishna. The lord is seated on Adi Sesha and is said to be installed by
Arjuna.
A peculiarity of this temple is that the panchaloha idol does not appear to touch the ground. Offering of gingelly oil to the lamp is considered auspicious. The temple celebrates three festivals annually.
The main among them lasts for eight days. The festival highlights are Seeveli and a ritual called Koottiyezhunnallippu on the fourth day. Various cultural programs are also organized which include many dance forms like Kathakali, Chakyarkoothu and Ottanthullal.
The other festivals are Ombatham Utsavam on the ninth day of
Thulam month (October) and the birthday of the deity on the day of Uthram in the month of Kumbham (February–March). Both festivals are highlighted by processions of decorated elephants.
