Karuvarakundu

Karuvarakundu is a town in Malappuram District, Kerala. It is 32 km east of Manjeri and is 30 km south of Nilambur. It is also referred as Karuvarakkundu and Karuvarkunou.

The place derived its name from iron ore cuttings and blacksmith community, which existed here. Rubber and tea plantations are the major activities of the area. Silent Valley National Park is a nearby attraction. Tuvvur (towards west), Kalikavu (north), Attappady (east), Melattur (south), Alanallur (south) and Mannarkkad (south-east) are the nearby towns. Calicut Airport, Coimbatore Airport and Cochin International Airport are in equal proximity to Karuvarakundu. The nearest major railway station is Kozhikode Railway Station.
