Mamburam is a famous Muslim pilgrim center located in
Malappuram District of
Kerala. It is situated about 26 km east of
Tirur.
The place is famous for the Makham, where the mortal remains of the principal Tangals, the religious leaders of Malabar Muslims, are entombed.
An annual nercha festival, the Mamburam Nercha, is held here in the month of Muharram, the 1st month of the Islamic calendar. People crowd to this Makham to celebrate the nercha and pay their humble worship.
