Malampuzha is a little town situated about 10 km from
Palakkad, on the lower hills of the
Western Ghats. The town is nurtured by and named after river Malampuzha, a tributary of
Kerala's longest river, Bharathapuzha.
Malampuzha is a major tourist attraction for its trekking trails. The Malampuzha Dam with its rock garden, amusement park, fish-shaped aquarium,
ropeway and boating facilities adds to the tourist appeal. Malampuzha is also considered the headquarters of the inland fishery activities of Kerala.
The nearest railway line passes through Palakkad and the nearest airport is at Coimbatore, about 55 km from Palakkad town.
