Liquid Propulsion Systems Center




Liquid Propulsion Systems Center (LPSC) is a part of the Vikram Sarabhai Space Center, Kerala. The facility is renowned for developing the indigenous cryogenic engine, marking a crucial phase in the Indian space program's march towards self-reliance in launch vehicle technology.

Liquid Propulsion Systems Center has a 300 acre campus meant for major research and development work on liquid propellant engines for the PSLV and cryogenic propulsion systems for the GSLV. The LPSC is located at Valiamala, about 25 km from Thiruvananthapuram in Thiruvananthapuram District. Other LPSC centres in India are at Mahendragiri in Tamil Nadu and Bangalore.
