Monkombu Bhagavathi Temple

Monkombu Bhagavathi Temple is located at Monkombu in Alappuzha District. The temple is dedicated to Goddess Monkombill Bhagavati.

According to legend, once when a timber merchant was transporting logs through the Pamba River, a log of mango tree got stuck into the shore and did not move. On consulting the astrologers, the merchant found that there is a presence of Goddess Bhagavati in the log and a temple was constructed there.

The annual festival, Monkombu Garudan Thookam, is celebrated for eight days starting from Vishu.
