Koottickal is a small and beautiful village, on the shores of the Pullaka River, in
Kottayam District of
Kerala. It lies in the
Western Ghats, 5 km north of
Mundakayam.
The artificial lake created by the check dam of the River Manimala, the draping greenery and the magnificent mountain ranges make it an enchanting place to visit. Amruthameda, which is famous for medicinal plants, and the waterfall at Vadakkemala are nearby points of attraction.

By road, Koottickal is well connected with Mundakayam, Elamgulam, Chirakkadavu and Kottayam. Kottayam Railway Station is the nearest major railhead.
