Puthiyangadi is a scenic village in
Kannur District of
Kerala. Situated near the
Madayi village, this place is a land of lush green coconut palms swaying in tune with the whistling breeze. Madayi is about 22 km from
Kannur. Muslims form the largest community in Puthiyangadi village.
Puthiyangadi is bounded in the west by the Arabian Sea, in the north by the Ezhimala Hills, in the south by Mattul village and in the east by the Sultan Canal. This agricultural village is rich in paddy fields, peaceful lagoons, charming beaches and back waters.
Places of torist interest are Kozhi Bazar, Mottambrum, Angadi,
Ettammel, Neerozukkum Chal and Chootad. The Puthiyangadi Juma Masjid, Yaseen Juma Masjid, Thalakkale Masjid, Rifayi Masjid,
Utharam Masjid, Moideen Masjid, RC Church and a Kavu are the major places of worship here.
Payangadi Railway Station is at a distance of one kilometer from here. Puthiayangadi Bus Stand (at Kadappuram) operates private buses to Kannur, Payangadi and Payyanur.
