Kanhirangad Vaidyanatha Temple

Kanhirangad Vaidyanatha Temple is situated near Taliparamba in Kannur District. This temple is devoted to Lord Shiva in his Vaidyanatha (physician lord) form.

The consumption of ksheera dhara performed on Vaidyanatha is believed to get rid of incurable diseases. Sundays falling on the 6th of the Malayalam months are believed to be more auspicious for worship.

The popular festival celebrated at the temple is Thiruvathira in the Malayalam month of Dhanu. Devotees believe that all diseases can be cured by taking a dip in the temple tank, which has three wells containing medicinal herbs.

The Kanhiram tree with no bitter leaves is the other significant attraction of the temple. The two Theyyam deities, Ullattil Bhagavathi and Ktakulangara Bhagavathi, are believed to be the watch and ward staff of Sri Kanhirangattappan.

The closest railway station and bus station are at Kannur. Calicut Airport is the nearest airport.
