Nileshwar is a small town in the northern part of
Kerala and is often called the cultural center of
Kasargod District. The Nileshwaram River flows through this historic town which was once the seat of the Nileshwar Rajas. The town is famous for its palaces, sacred groves, shrines, festivals and yoga points.
Nileshwaram Palace is a folklore center of the Department of Archeology. The 300 year old Bekal Fort, Anandasram, Ananthapuram Lake Temple are spots worth visiting. The town is famous for its Mannampurathu Kavu and Anjootambalam Veerar Kavu.
