Golden Jubilee Museum, housed in the Christian Cultural Center at
Pala, is a treasure house of antique curios of ancient Christian churches, relics of the by gone years, and a seemingly never ending list of ancient splendor and craft. Conceived to commemorate the Golden Jubilee of the Diocese of Pala, the museum is housed in three well-appointed halls of the cultural center.
The first hall presents an archaic collection of ancient church curios like liturgical vestments; Tabernacles; Thrones; Ramsethis; candle sticks, chandeliers; glass lamps and statues. Second hall showcases a wide array of musical instruments, old models of telephone and various instruments for penitence like Chammatti and Mullaranganam. A captivating trove of relics close to the verge of extinction, an old printing press and rare books, Hieroglyphics and Popyrus of ancient Egypt receive one on the third hall. Artifacts ranging from cooking and cleaning utensils, ancient lamps, agricultural implements, exquisite Chinese crafts to old weighing devices, Nannangadies, locks, miniatures of renowned monuments and crosses provides food of thought for even a curious visitor.
The museum accepts visitors from 10:00 hrs to 17:00 hrs every day.
