Thuravoor is about 22 km south of
Kochi and is 5 km from
Cherthala.
It houses the temple of Lord Narasimhamoorthy and Lord Mahasudarsanamoorthy, commonly called as Thuravoor Mahakshethram. Thuravoor is also the community area of gowda Saraswat Brahmin community.
Thuravoor Railway Station (
Turavur Railway Station) is a minor station on the Kayamulam-Alappuzha-Ernakulam line. Nearest major railhead is at Alappuzha.
