Cochin Port is a natural all weather port located on the
Willingdon Island in
Kerala. The port has two wharves, 17 berths, which include three oil jetties, and one dry dock. It is designed to accommodate ships of up to 231 m length and a displacement tonnage of 115000 loaded to 11.7 m draft.
The port handles metals, food grains, marine products, cement, sugar, machinery, fertilizers, clinker, crude oil, and liquid ammonia. It offers berths for handling cargo and passenger ships, cargo handling equipments, storage accommodation, dry dock, bunkering facilities, fisheries harbor, and medical facilities.
It is situated about 930 km south of Mumbai and 320 km north of Kanyakumari, the southern most tip of India.
