Dhanu is the fifth month of the Malayalam calendar. It falls between mid December and mid January. The
Thiruvathira Festival in the month of Dhanu is a very special occasion for women in
Kerala. The first Wednesday of Dhanu is celebrated as Kuchela Dinam at the
Guruvayoorappan Temple.
