Abode of the World's Richest Temple



Tirupati is a holy city which is situated in the Chittoor District of Andhra Pradesh, 600 km from Hyderabad, 250 km from Bangalore and 150 km from Chennai.

Tirupati is famous for the Venkateshwara temple, a perfect example of the Dravidian style of temple architecture, in the sacred Tirumala hills. The presiding deity of the temple is Lord Venkateshwara, which is famous all over the world as the giver of boons.

There are several other temples in the vicinity such as the Varahaswami temple, Govindaraja Swami Temple and Kodandaramaswami temple. Tirupati is famous for its historical places, red wooden toys, copper and brass idols. The population of the city is around 225,000. The climate is tropical. The languages spoken are Telugu, Tamil, English and Hindi. Three star to budget accommodation is available. The best time to visit Tirupati is between September and February.

Tirupati Airport is the nearest airport. Tirupati is also well connected by rail and road from Hyderabad, Chennai, Bangalore and other major cities of India.
