Chandragupta Basti is one of the main Jain temples on the Chandragiri Hill and is situated in the township of
Sravanabelagola.
The temple was built by Emperor Ashoka and is adorned with eight beautifully carved idols. These idols are ornamented with semi-precious stones. The temple has three chambers and ornately carved marble screens, in front of the vestibule, on either side of the doorway.
Sravanabelagola is 160 km from Bangalore and around 2 hour drive from Mysore.
