Bangalore District is situated in the heart of the south
Deccan Plateau in peninsular India with an area of 2,190 sq km. It has a population of more than 3 million. Bajra, pulses, and groundnut are the major crops grown. Bangalore has no major rivers. The Arkavati River flows for a small distance and the Dakshina Pinakini touches the north-east borders.
