Saumya Keshava Temple is one of the
Hoysala temples built around the 12th century. It is located at
Nagamangala, north of Melkote, in
Mandya District. The temple has many features that may have been added to by the Vijayanagar kings. Here the principal deity is a 2 ft tall, beautifully decorated
Keshava.
Melkote is situated at distance of 50 km from the north of Mysore and 150 km from Bangalore. The nearest railway station is at Mandya which is 40 km away. There are buses which connect Melkote with other nearby cities and towns.
