National Highway 9 links Pune in Maharashtra with Machilipatnam in Andhra Pradesh. This 841 km-long road starts at the junction of national highways 50 and 4 at Pune and passes through the towns of Indapur,
Mohol, Solapur, Homnabad, Zahirabad, Sangareddi, Hyderabad and Vijayawada, before terminating at the coastal town of Machillipatnam. Of its total length, the road traverses 336 km in Maharashtra, 75 km in Karnataka and 430 km in Andhra Pradesh.
