Madhwacharya, popularly known as Madhwa, was a dignified saint who preached the great idea that god will hear in whichever language or name he is addressed. Madhwa was born in 1238 at Pajaka, a small village near
Udupi. He is believed to be the messenger of
Lord Narayana. Madhwa mastered the
Vedas and
Upanishads at an early age. He became an ascetic at the age of sixteen. As an ascetic, he proposed Bhakti, namely devotion, to his followers. Bhakti is the ideal method to experience the greatness and supremacy of God. Madhwa was one among the three great acharyas of
Hinduism, who preached Dwaita (Dualism).
