Gokak is a celebrated tourist center located in
Belgaum District of
Karnataka. It is approachable from
Dhupdal through a low level bridge, which is closed during rainy season. The
Ghataprabha is the main river in this place, which takes a leap of 52 m over a sand stone cliff. The general features of this
Gokak Waterfalls resemble Niagara.
Konneu and Dhupdal villages are nearby. Many temples in Rashtrakuta, Vesara and later Chalukyan styles, which are dedicated to Mahalingeshwar, Shanmukh, and Mahadev, are located in these villages.
