Situated at about six km from
Udupi, on the southern bank of river Swarna is this tiny hamlet of Kallianpur. The temples of Kenchamma, Veerabhadra, Mahalingeshwara, Ganapati and Venkataramana and an old fort belonging to the Vijayanagara days are points worthy of tourist interest in the region. Dhakke Bali, a religious function held in the town on the full moon day in the month of December, draws a large number of devotees.
A hamlet abounding in a rich past, Kallianpur is keeping up its pace to be at par with the world order and is fast transforming into a major industrial centre.
