Radio Observatory at Gauribidanur in
Kolar District is operated by the Indian Institute of Astrophysics, in a joint collaboration program with the Raman Research Institute.
The various facilities at the observatory help to study radio emission from the sun, pulsars and supernova remnants, galactic and extra-galactic sources. The instruments used in the observatory are decameter wave radio telescope, radio heliograph, 1024 channel digital correlator and Mauritius radio telescope.
The observatory is linked by road from Bangalore via
Yelahanka, Dodballapur.
