Famous for custard apples, Arkera is around 65 km south-west of
Raichur. This picturesque place lies in a remote area of Deodurg taluk in
Raichur District,
Karnataka. Deodurg is 20 km north of Arkera.
A hillock adjacent to the village, which was once filled with rocks and wild grass and shrubs, has now been turned into a green lush land. Fruit bearing trees and medicinal plants are cultivated on the hillock. There is a temple dedicated to Lord Hanuman and Maremma, the village goddess. The hillock is also dotted with several other monuments.
The place is an ideal weekend getaway.
