Dodda Basappa Temple is located at
Dambala in
Gadag District of
Karnataka. Dambala is about 20 km south-east of
Gadag and 75 km from
Dharwad.
This beautiful shrine is dedicated to Lord Shiva. It was constructed on a polygonal stellar shape. Built in the Kalyani Chalukya period, this temple has elaborately carved pillars and well decorated door-steps.
Close to this temple is a famous Buddhist shrine dedicated to Goddess Taradevi.
