Malkhed is 40 km away from
Gulbarga. Lying on the banks of Kagini River, Malkhed is between Gulbarga and
Sedam and 12 km from Sedam. Previously it was called Manyakhet, the ancient capital of the
Rashtrakutas. The village has a Jain temple called
Shri Malkhed Tirth.
