Lord Shiva is in this town. The town is blessed with the sacred meeting place(Sangama) of two main rivers, Netravathi and Kumaradhara, of Dakshina Kannada. People take holy bath (Sangama Snana) and worship Lord Shiva, which is expected to absolve them of all sins and guarantee moksha after death.
