Bantwal Taluk in Dakshina Kannada District is bordered by the state of Kerala in the south, Puttur and Belthangady in the east, Karkala in the north and Mangalore in the west. The river Netravati flows through the middle of the taluk. Famous temples around the taluk are the Venkataramana Temple, Karinjeswara temple at Karinja, and Narahari Parvatha.
