An architectural gem and
Bangalore's most well known landmark, Vidhana Soudha is located at the north-west end of the
Cubbon Park. It houses the State Legislature and Secretariat.
A classic example of Neo-Dravidian style of architecture, the building is 46-meter high and it has four domes on all the four corners. The main entrance is dominated by the Lion captial, the symbol of Indian sovereignty. The massive sandalwood door of the Cabinet room is a spectacular feature of this imposing building. It houses 22 government departments and has around 300 rooms.
The illuminated Vidhana Soudha during special occasion is a sight worth viewing.
