Basavanagudi Nandi Temple



Basavanagudi Nandi Temple or Bull Temple, as it is popularly known, is a 16th century shrine situated on top of a hill at Basavanagudi, in Bangalore. The temple is dedicated to Nandi, the divine bull of Lord Shiva.

The temple enshrines a huge idol of Nandi carved out of single granite rock. The image of the deity is about 15 ft high and 20 ft long.

Basavanagudi Ganesh Temple, situated nearby is worth visiting.

The Ground Nut Fair (Kadalekay Parishe), celebrated here annually, on the last Monday of the Kaarthigai month (November), draws a large number of people from far and near.
