Archaeological Museum - Badami




Archaeological Museum is situated at Badami, about 30 km from Bagalkot, in Karnataka. The museum exhibits mainly stone sculptures from Chalukyas, Rashtrakutas (550-950 AD) and medieval periods. The images of Lajja-Gauri, a fertility cult inhibited in the region during the Chalukyan times, is also showcased in the museum.

The Archaeological Museum is situated near the Agastyatirtha Tank. The museum is open from 10:00 to 17:00 hrs daily, except Fridays and public holidays.

Badami Railway Station, on the Gadag-Hotgi rail route, is the nearest railhead.
