Bariatu is one of the biggest residential areas in
Ranchi,
Jharkhand. Formerly it was a forest area with the settlement of Munda tribe.
Bariatu, meaning two villages, derived its name from the local language, known as
Mundari language. The picturesque Bariatu Hills located here forms the gateway to the city at Booti More.
