Lohardaga District
Lohardaga District has an area of 1,491 sq km. The people mainly depend on agriculture and forest produce. Paddy is the main crop. The villagers also engage in making handicrafts. Major handicrafts are based on forest or farm such as mat making from the leaves of khajoor (Date Plum), bamboo based products and ropes, and other jute based products.
