Jashpur District




Jashpur District lies in the northern corner of Chhattisgarh, adjoining the borders of Jharkhand and Orissa on the eastern side. It covers an area of around 6,457 sq km and has a population of 740,000.

Jashpur is divided in two parts - Uppar Ghat and Nichghat. Kunkuri is the hottest region in Nichghat during summer and Pandrapat is the coldest region in Uppar Ghat in winter. The major towns are Ludam, Gholeng, Bandarchuwan, Kansabel, Ludeg and Patthalgaon. The popular tourist attractions in and around Jashpur are the Kotebira Eb River, waterfalls of Danpuri, Rajpuri, Rani Dah and Bhringraj, and the Kunkuri Cathedral.
