Tilpara Barrage is a large reservoir built on the
Mayurakshi River. This dam, also called Canada Dam, is situated in the village of
Masanjore in
Dumka District of
Jharkhand. It is an ideal picnic spot surrounded by hills and forests. The barrage is 113 ft high and 2000 ft long, with 21 lock gates which control the water of the river Mayurakshi. There are two rest houses, built by Jharkhand Government and West Bengal Government. These rest houses allow a clear view of this beautiful dam.
