Birkitti

Birkitti is a quaint village situated 10 km from Maheshpur in Pakaur District of Jharkhand.

During the dawn of 18th century a battle was fought between the local Rajput chief Raja Udit Narayan Singh and Nabab Murshid Kuli Khan of Murshidabad here. The remains of a fort can be seen even now, which was the center of action.

Agriculture is the main occupation of the people here and paddy and maize are the main crops.

Excursions to Aliganj and Debinagar will be an enchanting experience.

The major town close to the village is Pakaur, which is around 80 km south of Sahibganj.
