Baramulla is the largest district in
Jammu and Kashmir. The district headquarters,
Baramulla is situated 60 km away from
Srinagar. The district is spread over an area of 4,588 sq km, and has a population of approximately 1.16 million. Baramulla shares its boundaries with the districts of
Kupwara in the north,
Badgam and
Poonch in the south, and
Srinagar and
Leh in the east.
