Tulimpati La Pass is situated in
Ladakh,
Jammu and Kashmir. Perched at an altitude of 2500 ft, it links Nubra Valley to the
Karakoram Pass. Earlier this pass was one of the highest trade routes in the world for Yarkand in Central Asia.
This splendid route passes through a grand Himalayan region through giant precipices, deep gorges, glaciers, moraines and desert river valleys. The mountains on the side of the pass are mostly barren.
The track over the Tulumpati La is made on a sheer smooth rocky cliff, and stone walls are precariously balanced to form the track for goat, sheep and horses.
