Located in a hilly area of about 13,779 ft above sea level, Sumdah is a small village on the western part of
Leh District,
Jammu and Kashmir. It is about 55 km from Tsomoriri.
Sumdah is encircled by Drogulika in the western side, Alchi in the north, Ezas in the east and Chiling in the southern part. The place is famous for ancient wood carvings. Sumdah forms one of the catchment areas of Hemis National Park. Short excursions can be taken to Alchi Gompa from Sumdah.
Sumdah can be approached from Chumathang as well as from Korzok by road.
