Sudh Mahadev Temple is an ancient shrine located in
Jammu District of
Jammu and Kashmir. It is about 120 km from
Jammu.
Situated at an altitude of 1225 m, this small Shiva temple is believed to be 2800 years old. It has a black marble self-manifested Shivling. The temple also enshrines an idol of Goddess Parvati mounted on Nandi. It has a Dhooni (sacred fire) to remember the spiritual achievements of Baba Roop Nath.
On the full moon night of Shravan, the pilgrims visit this temple to worship the Trishul. They take holy bath in the sacred Devika River, which flows nearby, before entering the temple.
Gauri Kund Spring, a legendry spring close to the temple, and Mantalai, about 8 km away, add to the beauty of the place.
