Makhdoom Sahib Shrine




Makhdoom Sahib Shrine is towards the southern side of Hari Parbat Hill in Srinagar District, Jammu and Kashmir. The mosque nestles below the imposing Mughal Fort known as the Hari Parbat Fort. It is one of the most sacred shrines in Kashmir. This double storied, many-pillared structure displays a remarkable architectural style. This shrine is visited not only by Muslims but by people of all faiths, throughout the year. Makhdoom Sahib, also called Hazrat Sultan, was a Sufi saint.

The hill is easily accessible from the Tourist Reception Center in Srinagar. By road, Srinagar can be approached via National Highway 1A. The nearest railhead is Jammu Tawi Railway Station (300 km away) and the airport is Srinagar Airport.
