Fateh Kadal

Fateh Kadal is the third bridge built over the river Jhelum in Srinagar. ‘Kadal’ is a Kashmiri word for bridge. This is a wooden bridge and is the oldest one at present. Due to its age, the overpass is too dilapidated for actual use.

Situated in the old city, the Shah Hamdan Mosque is between Habba Kadal and Fateh Kadal. A new bridge has been constructed just upstream from it. There is a market for curios and special articles near the bridge. On the right side of the bridge, there is a spring devoted to the goddess Kali.
