Shang Valley is situated in the
Leh District of
Jammu and Kashmir. The valley is good for trekking and is part of the Shang Game Reserve. Trekkers from
Nimaling Valley cross the
Kongmaru Pass and reach the Shang Valley. The valley meets the
Indus River at its base. The lower part of the valley is densely populated and has scattered farm houses and orchards. The major attractions of the valley include gorgeous rock formations and gorges, slopes covered with grasses and shrubs, clear flowing rivers and streams, and waterfalls. Matho Valley is linked with Shang Valley by the Shang Pass.
